one of my current goals is to get faster! I really want to break 4 hours in the marathon, but I have actually gotten slower in the past year rather than faster?!

I don’t really like speed work, but I think it’s because I haven’t given it enough of a chance. This morning I tried a speed work-out on the treadmill. I ended up doing an easier w/o than I planned, but it’s better than nothing:

Woo! I was drenched in sweat after this!! I hope it gets easier as I do more speed work ?

I wanted to do some abs, but I was too wet with sweat and it got me freezing so I rinsed off in the shower and am icing my knee before anything else.

Breakfast was overnight oats with: container of strawberry Chobani, 1/3c oats, chia seeds, soy milk and this morning I added blubes and a bit more milk.

I also packed my lunch today. since losing my job, I am blogging, freelance writing and job searching from home. This means I have too much access to the kitchen and handfuls of crackers or cereal are a daily occurrence. I made a meal plan last night and packed my lunch this morning. I’m hoping all this planning keeps me on track!

I started walking to lose weight the summertime after high institution as well as ultimately started running.

I was shocked that it wasn’t just speedy, skinny cross country runners. I completely expected to surface last or quit.

Actually running a race provided me the guts to believe about trying one more race.

From there I trained for a half marathon. That was extremely hard. however I did it!

I ran halfs for a while before choosing to run one full marathon. I understood it’d be incredibly challenging. as well as I was still having a hard time with my weight.

So I started RunEatRepeat.com as a training & diet plan blog to paper my journey (and keep me honest).

I didn’t expect any individual to checked out it. It was just for fun. however RER grew a big following.
My like for running grew too!

I wished to assist others as well as be a resource so I got licensed as a RRCA Running instructor as well as later a Holistic health and wellness instructor (with the Institute for integrated Nutrition).

I’m so delighted as well as grateful that I can link with you with @RunEatRepeat !

And it’s all since running discovered me.

So why do I run?

I run since I like it.
I look ahead to weekend long runs as well as quick miles on a weekday morning.
I like exactly how I feel after a 10 miler. I like hitting that wonderful area of worn out as well as runner’s high.
I like speaking about running!
I like assisting other runners with ideas as well as advice.
I like the buddies I’ve made with running.

Surf City Marathon/Half Marathon (February). long sleeve is lastly back in utilize after a hot summer!

(Last year’s long beach is one of my all time faves even though it’s gray.)

After boot camp this morning I was supposed to do speed work (400 repeats), however when I went to turn on my Garmin it wouldn’t respond. This is the second time this has occurred this week (it’s occurred in the past as well). I understand exactly how to do a difficult reset, however it’s still not responding. बू।

Thanks to the blog I understand that I bought it 3 years ago! Crazy! So, it may just be time to get a new one. I’ve utilized the heck out of it over the last 3 years!

I believe I’m going to figure out exactly how to utilize my new Moto gadget as well as keeping messing with it. But, since my Garmin didn’t work as well as I was in a new community I had no concept exactly how to determine (and time!) 400s. I did 3 miles instead with some fartlek work as well as called it a run.

They just got a new kitten and it’s the world’s cutest tiny cat ever ever ever.

On the way home there was some major traffic so I made a stop at the mall. It’s completely better to walk around shopping then to sit in the ‘Corona crawl’.

Grabbed a healthy snack from GNC. It was best by the Quest bars and I wanted to see if it was similar. No. It’s not. It was kind of bland – which is strange for a chocolate Mint bar, not sweet and $3.00. I would NOT recommend.

Spotted this fun donut tee too. It’s going on my Christmas list! (*Not the shirt, a dozen donuts.)

I had un-buyer’s remorse after I texted that picture of it to a friend, and went searching for it online when I got home – I found a ‘Donut Care’ tee and  This Donut Hoodie has my eye now too. This men Donut tee is fun too.

Now I just kinda want to eat a donut.

But, I came home and sipped some tea instead of actually eating a dozen donuts. maybe because I didn’t have donuts, maybe because I am trying to avoid acquiring weight…

But, outside of that my day has been amazing because I met up with the elusive SkinnyRunner for a run. We discussed the possibility of her starting a new blog called ThinSmartCarDriver.com but it just doesn’t have the same ring to it.

I also tried to convince her to do some mid-run yoga. But, she is very anti yoga doing odd things in public. Boo.

Then there were almonds. I refilled the tin I got at Fitbloggin with a serving size plus 3. Do you know how numerous almonds are in one serving? check me out on Instagram and I’ll tell ya.

But before all of that happened I woke up very early to get in a bike ride!

I haven’t rode a bike because 2 years ago when I did the iTryathlon (a mini-tri in Irvine). I can’t believe it has been that long!! because then I’ve talked about wanting to get back into biking and swimming dozens of times, but haven’t made the time or had the resources.

Proof: I still have the number from the race on my helmet.

So, when I identified a Groupon for a fixed gear bike I thought this was the ideal opportunity to get back out there!

I was a little frightened that I actually forgot how to ride – I’ve never been good at biking (even as a kid I was always wobbly). गम्भीरतापूर्वक। It took some confidence to get back on the bike. I didn’t fall (this time) but I do turn very awkward. हा!

And it is ‘just like riding a bike’! I remembered, but am still wobbly. ओह राम्रो। That’s how I roll.

I’m pretty ecstatic that it’s such a cute bike too. check out those yellow wheels. They’re like my rims. This is a fixed gear bike, so I’m probably going to become a hipster too.

I do really want to start bike riding much more and even consider doing another Tri. I’m pleased to be able to switch up my workouts a bit. and the weather here is perfection for riding in the morning too.

Hello! So I recently went to put on eyeliner and realized… I forgot how!

It has been so long because I’ve used liquid eyeliner I made a mess and it did not look very good. but this is a good news / bad news situation!

The bad news is…

Yes, I don’t know how to do eyeliner anymore. It’s not like riding a bike. मैले बिर्सिए! It might be over a year because I’ve done eyeliner!! So it was messy, uneven and squiggly.

The good news is…

One of the reasons I haven’t been doing eyeliner is that my new favorite mascara makes my lashes look so thick at the base I haven’t felt it was necessary.

(The other reasons include: I’m messy, I’m always running late and don’t have time, laziness, a sense of sadness/hopelessness that I ought to speak with a professional about and the fact that I often lose them or forget to put the cap back on and they dry out.)

So I have an outstanding Mascara to tell you about and it might be replacing my old favorite which I’ve recommended for years. and I’m sharing a short video with my thoughts on it…

The best mascara for thick, full lashes and long lashes. I’ve tried them all and this mascara makes it look like I have fake eyelashes on but I don’t. It’s a great price too and available at drug stores, Target and Ulta.

So my typical go-to mascara is Maybelline Volum’ express Colossal Mascara – I like Glam Black

I still use it and recommend it! I think it’s a great day time mascara or night time if you put on a few coats.

But the new mascara I’ve discovered is great to making my lashes look very thick and helping to define my lash line (so I didn’t feel the need for eyeliner) is:

Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara – I like Blackest Black (sometimes I use waterproof, it depends on what I’m doing)

Note: A lot of the Maybelline Mascaras have the similar names so make sure you’re getting the best one. There are similar looking tubes that also work… but I don’t like curved brushes for mascara so those don’t work for me. but figure out what works for you ?
