As I was walking around the Atlanta airport during my layover I saw this sign and wanted to take a picture of it. So, I went to get my camera and that’s when I realized –

I left my camera on the plane!!!!

It had already been at least a half an hour since got there and was wandering around. But, I somehow managed to find the gate where my flight arrived and a flight attendant let me go back on the plane to check if it was still there. and it was!

I had a small heart attack, but nothing a weekend in vegas can’t solve ?

Breakfast:

I brought yogurt and cereal for breakfast on the first flight, but decided to get steel cut oats from Pot belly instead. I ate it with my banged up banana.

My seat neighbor thought it was weird I was taking a picture of my food and I told her about the blog (Hi Joanne!). It turns out she and her husband are trying to be healthier this year and we had a lot to chat about! The flight was over before we knew it.

I walked around the Atlanta airport for about 40 minutes before stopping to dig into lunch. I am exhausted already and really need to take a nap on my next flight.

I really should be more embarrassed about this because I really am the grossest traveler. I packed the leftover brussel sprouts from last night as part of my lunch and you could smell them when I opened up my backpack on the place.

To my credit, I did actually eat them in the food court – not in a confined space.

With my brussels, I had PB&J, yogurt and trail mix with cereal, raisins and cashews.

I’ve decided to allow non-sugar cereals at least until I get back home because it’s a healthy breakfast or snack choice on the go.

**Added bonus: My mom credits Kashi Go Lean with one of the main reasons she lost weight after she had Matt. She used to eat if for breakfast and also as a snack in a homemade trail mix. For some reason we both have gotten away from eating it and are talking about going back.**

Boo! I just realized I forgot my peeled orange in the fridge at home. Ben, go at it.

Now I have a little bit more time to hang out before I’m off to Vegas! I need a nap.

I was about to freak out but then I remembered I am very lucky and it’s going to be okay.

But I didn’t have the time to mess with it because I had plans last night so I just shut it down and went out.

I went with the black even though I preferred the white tee because it seemed see through. My mission in life is to find a good not see-through white tee and body suit.

This morning I woke up and remembered my computer was tragic. So, I googled around and found someone who would come to my house to fix it for a flat fee. It took him 3 hours! I really messed it up!!

But he totally saved my life and I am now happily talking to you nice people.

Since I couldn’t use my lapper for most of the day I decided to take advantage and be productive. I cleaned and worked on a few house projects.

Just dusting my manatee drinking wine…

I even got the mail and found a surprise – a random tiny sample of Nutella! मेरो दिन राम्रो पारिदियौ।

I think I should always have a Nutella snack in my pocket, don’t you?

If you really want to make sure you’re counting up your miles accurately you have to use an accurate tool to measure the distance. It doesn’t have to be a incredibly fancy running enjoy or tracker though. There are budget-friendly (even free) options to track how far you’re running.

When you are part of a buddy or group challenge and trying to keep each other accountable – find out how everyone is going to track their miles before you start. If they’re a new runner or just new to a challenge like this be sure to let them know the complimentary options. no one wants to scramble to download a good running app as they walk out the door to run!

Last night I ended up cooking the comfort greens according to the package directions.

Then, I added them to a bowl of tomato soup with a side of cheesy sourdough bread. It was delicious! southern food isn’t common around here so I don’t think I’ve ever tried collard greens! I’m thinking this is the same thing, but the company named the mix different for marketing purposes?

This morning my running schedule called for a 40 minute tempo run. I picked a route that I thought was about 5 miles and went for it. The target pace was expected to be around 8:07 or under. Yeah, right.

Well, the route was only 4 miles. Here’s the banana splits

Mile 1: 8:05

Mile 2: 7:51

Mile 3: 8:39 (freeway overpass killed me)

Mile 4: 8:34

I cooled down with a little cat dancing, but I need to S-T-R-E-T-C-H! My hips are very tight.

I made pumpkin pancakes for breakfast and they were sadder looking than typical so I’ll spare you the picture.

But, I do want to share my new nut butter find. I feel in love with TJ’s Sunflower Butter a while back. Unfortunately, it has added sugar and I already eat much more than my share of sweets so I stopped purchasing it.

Yesterday I found MaraNatha’s Sunflower Seed Butter – it’s delicious and doesn’t have added sugar!

I did a lot of cleaning yesterday, but still have a pile of mail I’ve been neglecting for weeks! I don’t have to be into work until 2pm today so I hope to go through all of it before that.

delighted Friday! I started my day with a very slow 6 miler. I had a random cramp in my upper back and just felt like my legs were worn out the whole time. I’m thinking I need a massage – that’ll cure it right?

Last night I made Pizza Eggs for dinner – an open omelet topped with marinara and cheese. It was delicious! This might be my newest “food phase” because I already want another one.

I topped it with red pepper flakes and parmesan – it really was like eating pizza with a fork (tell me you usually don’t eat pizza with a fork though).

I over dressed for my run and was incredibly hot on the way back. I made a decision a smoothie sounded incredible after my sweaty run so I busted out my new Jay Robb protein powder to try again (I had it at my mom’s on Monday and it was incredibly icy but I thought it was her blender).

I’m going to have to say the emperor is naked on this one. The consistency is icy, not smooth and it needs something to make it really good. I used to just add ice and almond milk to my favorite Spirutien and it was AMAZING. I might have to switch back and deal with the soyaffects (side affects of soy).

I paired my smoothie with a best 10 Bagel and PB&J. Yes, that would be pumpkin butter on one side – on my last jar, but I still see TJ’s has it in stock.

Now I’m packing up and heading to Arizona for the weekend!

I scored a complimentary bib for the IMS half Marathon and then found a incredibly great deal at the Marriott (thanks to a client that works there!). So, Ben and are road tripping to AZ today.

We haven’t done a real road trip considering that we went to Sequoia in September so we’re both really excited!

After my test I ran a bunch of errands. Apparently, I spent most of my vegas money at Target. In my defense – it’s all shit I don’t need. Well, maybe I do need a headband with a flower on it for Vegas?

The day was full of impulse buys and one of them were these Veggie Crunchers. See, just add oil to veggies and make them seem like chip. Then, maybe people will eat more vegetables.

They are just okay, not salty enough for me. I love how pretty they are though ?

Dinner was a enormous sweet potato and roasted brussel sprouts. I roast my “b-sprouts” at 450 sprayed with cooking spray and salted. I leave them in until they are sufficiently burnt or I run out of patience and want to eat.

If I am ever in a gang I think my gang name should be “B-Sprout”. What do you guys think?

Lunch was boring – veggie burger with carrots and lots and lots of hummus!

I also snacked on some new Quaker Crisp thingers while driving around town. See the red Clearance sticker? I had to get them.

And I did end up having time for a mani-pedi. See how much better my hand looks compared to this morning’s photo? **But, I am worried that I am going to get an infected toe because of my ingrown issues and it’s going to get into my blood stream and I’m going to die in Vegas. “No, I’m not a hypochondriac! who said I was?!”

I am all packed up and ready to head outta here.  I have to be at the airport by 7:30am tomorrow morning. I may hit up a Spinning class at 5:30am or just do some exercises at home – I can’t decide. I want to make sure to get some exercise in because I’ll probably be “resting” Saturday and Sunday.

I will probably see you next in Atlanta (my lay-over)!
